Set the record straight!

I agree with you Steve, clearly God quite blatantly does not rescue people from violence as this death shows, even those who claim to be doing work for him. The JW myth in fact is that god is not going to spare billions of people in a mass violent death orgy at Armageddon.
In reality God never does do anything at all, he never has and he never will.
However, we can commiserate with those like the family of this woman who have lost a loved one.

Is the End right around the corner or what???
by Lynnie ininteresting observations i've noticed when visiting my uber elder cousin and his wife.
he just inherited a lovely home on the water on puget sound from his non jw dad who passed away earlier this year.
so they have spent many $$$ and months remodeling this house to their standards which are quite expensive tastes.

Yes, speaking to PIMOs I get the impression that the social club spirit is eclipsing the holy spirit.
The average JW is goes through the rituals for the sake of appearances 'cos that is what you have to do to be a member. In the main they are fed up with waiting for the ever fading paradise promise and calmly accept their own death like unbelievers.
The carrot has withered and gone mouldy so all the GB can do is give them the stick by way of "Do more!"
The new way of coping as a JW is to take it all with a pinch of salt! The gb will be furious when they realize what is actually going on in the minds of their sheep. They may have to admit defeat earlier than we think.
Whatever, it is another nail in the Watchtower coffin.

Concept faithful discreet slave
by inbetween09 inaccording to the "new light" the faithful slave class appeared after jesus came 1914 (rather 1918 he inspected the temple) and was bestowed with assigement to provide spiritual food.. there are a number of problems with this new concept:.
how did russel and co found out about certain unique teachings diffferent from mainstream christendom?.
option 1) apparently by himself, as there was no fds at his time.

Fisherman I am just so weary of quoting the scriptures as if they had any real meaning, they are useless for anything except as literary archetypes. There is no "true interpretation" of the Bible possible, it is a pointless exercise, a sisyphean task.
In this case (fds) the date of arrival of the Kingdom is a necessary piece of knowledge to see its application yet "no one knows the day or hour" ad infinitum... although Jesus said (or it is written that he said it, as it is unlikely that he existed) that the kingdom would come in the lifetime of those who lived with him. Mark 9;1
The scriptures as an inerrant collection of divine instructions must be the biggest scam of all time and one perpetuated by the Catholic Church in the fourth century at the behest of the Roman Empire.

Fisherman," the concept is valid".
But does that mean that the Bible is actually truthful and we should believe it all and act on everything it teaches?
The fds parable would have been obvious to both the rich and to slaves that the slave's job is to work when the master is not present--and how pleased ("chuffed" is a good UK word) the slave would be to be found still working at the master's return. One of many everyday illustrations to sell the new bonkers idea of Christianity giving (mainly) the poor and uneducated the hope of immortality by worshipping Jesus.
Is it not obvious that the NT is the work of religious propagandists trying to convince and illustrate credibility for their partisan brand of the Christ story? You have to understand that the Christ story was known and told for centuries before Jesus appeared as the title figure. The Greeks called them Sophists, others; God-men, magicians or even conjurors.

Phizzy, there is no such thing as new light, it is a total fiction (as you know!). The idea that 1914 or 1919 are of significance is a complete red herring from the real things which matter in life. They have not got the slightest significance unless you are an anally retentive JW imagining that what the Watchtower says actually comes from an almighty God somewhere out in the spirit world. The whole story, the faux tale of Big J and Satan are fairy stories to keep the ignorant JWs tightly under the cosh and in thrall to the gb. The FDS was merely an illustration referencing the rightness of Christian cults who enticed new members by supplying food for the tramps who came only for the grub.
Oh it's all such an unholy mess........utter rubbish in fact but repeated so many times that it almost, almost sounds like it could have real meaning ...........

Ridiculous (degrading) comment on society's video
by Festus inon video "benefits of divine education" william samuelsson makes totally appalling comment.. starting from 3:05 he refers to "an effort" that was made in past to see how society's curriculum corresponds with normal - worldly - universities.. then he claims that following question was asked (to university representative) "how we in five months can teach the same that for them takes two years"?.
according to w samuelsson the representative of a university replied something like this: "your students are motivated, they have come to learn where as our students have been send to university by their parents and might have something else than learning in their mind".
this is to crystallize what he said.

"Divine education" is a fraud and a fantasy, just like the rest of JW broadcasting; fine sounding words for unintelligent people to gobble up without questioning them!
There is no concrete evidence on the table so to speak to examine and discuss the subject of God. (Except perhaps the curious faculty of the human brain to conjure up a spirit world and then infect others with the same delusion). What can ever be said about spirits or gods? There is nothing to say since they cannot be detected through the five senses.
Just ask a JW to define indoctrination, they can't do it because they only receive indoctrination.
Education means to be led out-- indoctrination means to be kept in.
Wakey wakey Jehovah's Witnesses!

Sbf, why adulate the music of a sick and twisted cult? It's like saying Hitler was a vegetarian and kind to animals, those items were not relevant to his genocidal mania. Likewise the purpose of the JW org is for the gb to flourish by living off the fat of their delusional death cult.

Jehovah's Witnesses are so ignorant they do not know what education is. They imagine it means believing what the GB says. That is not education, that is educational suicide.

Why the vitriolic hate?
by stuckinarut2 ini am sure we have all thought of this before, but it struck me again today:.
why does the society promote such vitriolic hate toward, and about those who have left "the truth" ?.
surely it is obvious that such critical attitudes towards ones like us who have left, only serves to proove that they do not have "the truth"?.

From an anthropological viewpoint I would say that the sole validation of a paranoid belief which is held collectively, (as with JW org) is the number of believers. Enough believers gives credibility to both insiders and outsiders. To insiders it is a confirmation of divine attention, and large numbers give the organisation a superficial respectability to the general public.
I think that the reversal of numbers will signal to the remaining ones on the inside that the magic has gone from the religion, this notion could be contagious! If enough sheep leave many more will follow them, the JW religion after all is just about appearances; witnesses only do what they see their brothers and sisters doing. Starting as a trickle departing numbers could become a cascade eventually leaving only the most unquestioning devotees back in the forlorn KHs. Enough leavers would spell the end for JWs-- hence recent and desperate emphasis at assemblies on being loyal and staying in the org.
Of course The gb are all about control, they tell what to talk about and what to believe in through their propaganda on TV and in the Watchtower. It is said that the worst enemy of a cult is heresy, just look at Paul's hateful rantings against people who disagreed with him and his rules in the first century and this is because Christianity was always a superstitious and contentious cult until Rome created its own version and gave it sanction of orthodoxy.
So the JW org praises its slaves and hates the leavers due to the visible evidence of their symbolic declaration that the Watchtower is wrong. Numbers of believers are the key factor in cult strength.
